FAQs

Check out some of the frequently asked questions about Pitch-A-Friend Oslo!

At each event, friends who have signed up to pitch take the stage to introduce their incredible single friends to the audience. Think fun, creative, and often hilarious presentations that showcase what makes their friend such a great catch.

Throughout the event, we build in short breaks that give attendees a chance to chat, grab a drink, and meet new people.

Once the pitches wrap up, the mingling continues, giving everyone an opportunity to connect with the featured singles, their hype crews, and fellow attendees.

To make things easy, we provide stickers so you can quickly tell who is single and who is there to just support a friend. We may also sprinkle in lighthearted games and interactive activities throughout the event to keep the energy up and the conversation flowing.

Overall, it's a fun, low-pressure way to meet new people, make meaningful connections, and have a genuinely entertaining time.
Our events are for anyone who loves connection, community, and a good time. Whether you're single, open to new friendships, or just there to cheer someone on, you're always welcome.

We especially attract singles who are tired of dating apps and ready to make real, in-person connections.

Audiences may vary depending on if it is a themed or focused event. These events are designed around specific interests, dating preferences, or communities, with pitching spots reserved for that group. Even if an event is themed, everyone is always welcome to come support and socialize.
Absolutely - all of our events are LGBTQ+ friendly. We're all about creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where everyone feels seen and celebrated.

We also host LGBTQ+ focused event from time to time to connect even more intentionally - so keep an eye on our calendar! And even when an event is LGBTQ+ focused, all allies welcome to support their single friends, mingle, and enjoy the vibe.
Typically, 8-10 pitches are presented at each event, depending on the venue and format. Events may include an intermission or short breaks to keep the pacing engaging and allow time for additional socializing.
The best way to connect with someone who was pitched is to say hello in person during the event.

If you don't get the chance to chat, don't worry. The final slide of every pitch includes that person's preferred contact information, whether that's a social media handle, email address, or another way to reach them. Those slides are displayed on rotation throughout the social time, so you can easily grab their info and make your move or share with a friend that might be a good match!
The average age of participants being pitched is 31, and we've had folks pitched all the way up to 67!

We also host some age-specific events, and events focused on different interests or sexual orientations. Don't forget that even though you may not see your perfect match on stage, they may be in the audience!
We don't have an official waitlist for audience members and recommend you comment in the Facebook event or our Instagram post for the specific event that you are looking for tickets. You could try sending us a DM and we will notify you if we happen to hear about any available ticket - and have capacity to follow up on it. A last shot is showing up at the venue on the day and checking if anyone has notified us they have any unused tickets.
Our events are 18+ as they often take place in venues that serve alcohol. Whether you're pitching a friend or just showing up to mingle, you're welcome as long as you're of legal drinking age. For age-specific events, singles being pitched must fall within the event's listed age range.
No. The event should be a fun and positive experience for everyone involved, so even though your friend might like the surprise, we don't want anyone in the audience being afraid they might be pitched without them knowing - or consenting.
Yes, no problem. Unless the show is marked as an international show, it will mainly be in Norwegian, but basically everyone understands English. Just notify us in the signup form and we'll provide all the information you need in English, and you can present in either English or Norwegian.
No! Only those who signed up to pitch beforehand will be part of the event. Everyone else can just enjoy the show, and mingle with everyone during the breaks and mingle time.
Singles being pitched must fall within the event's listed age range.

Nope, not at all! You don't have to be single to pitch - just willing to hype up your friend in a fun, positive way and brave enough to do it in front of a crowd. That is what it is all about!

If you are single, pitching is also a sneaky-great way to put yourself out there while doing something awesome for your friend. Win-win!
Yes, your friend needs to be at the event, and they should know you're pitching them. Getting hyped up in front of a crowd rooting for you is a special experience, and we want everyone to feel seen and celebrated.

Being there also makes it easy for anyone curious to come say hi, and who knows, your friend might spot someone interesting in the audience too.
Yes! Mutual pitching is a fan favorite. Just make sure each person submits their own pitch request form, and add a note in the comments that you're pitching each other so we can try to make sure everyone gets a spot.
Yes! Two can pitch a friend together. Just make sure to include the co-presenter's name in the pitch request form and make sure to buy a ticket for the third person as there are only two free tickets for the event included in each pitch.
Because there are limited spots, we do not typically allow a presenter to pitch more than one friend. You can submit a separate request for the second friend, and we can waitlist you to determine if there's space closer to the event. Each request submission is for one friend only.
We don't allow people to pitch themselves. Singles are typically pitched by a friend, colleague, neighbour, or family member. That said, you don't need to be pitched in order to attend. Many people come just to enjoy the presentations and socialize with all the single attendees.
The best pitches come from the heart. It is all about showing off your friend in an honest, personal, and charming way. The more unique your pitch is, the more it will stand out - and most importantly, connect with the right people.

If you are into visuals, Canva's got tons of easy templates you can build on. Just have fun with it, keep it real, and let your friend's awesomeness shine.
You've got up to 5 minutes to win some hearts (on behalf of your friend, of course). Most people keep it simple with 8-10 slides, some great anecdotes, and maybe a couple of jokes. But honestly? You can do whatever you want, as long as it's positive and shows your friend in their best light.

Want to do a dramatic reading of their Hinge profile? Go for it. A slideshow with baby photos and testimonials from their grandma? Iconic. A catchy jingle? We'd love that.
This isn't a high-stakes competition - but the more creative, heartfelt, or hilarious you make it, the better your friend will shine.

Just make sure the last slide includes the best way to connect with your friend along with a picture! We will put this last slide on rotation during the mingle time along with the other featured singles.

Bring the energy, bring the charm, and have some fun with it!
Yes! If you use Google Slides or Canva, updates will automatically reflect on the shared link. Just make sure your last slide is finished with your friend's name, photo and the best way to get in contact with them!
Cancellations are rare, but they do happen - sometimes just days before the event. If a spot opens up close to the date, we will offer it to multiple people on the waitlist, and the spot will go to the first person who confirms.

Best move? Have your slides ready to go, just in case. That way, if your moment comes, you are ready to shine!
Most venues and events have open seating, and we only reserve seats for those pitching and being pitched, so if you want a seat - or a specially good one - we recommend you come early! Before some events, we also have a pregame event in the same room as the Pitch-A-Friend event. We recommend coming for the pregame regardless, but if you do, you've already secured seats for the whole event. Those who only have tickets for the Pitch-A-Friend event can enter only after the pregame is finished.
This depends very much on the venue and if there's a pregame event before the show, but usually it's pretty packed already 30 min before show start. At some venues, there might not be enough seats for everyone, so if you want to be sure not to have to stand during the show, we recommend coming early. We mainly book our shows at venues with both bar and food service, so you may enjoy a dinner out - and maybe meet some new friends - while you wait for the show to start.
